Nasceu a 6 de Agosto de 1928 em Pittsburgh.
Foi um impulsionador da arte pop, cineasta e pintor.

Ficou conhecido por pintar produtos americanos famosos, como latas de sopa Campbells's ou celebridades como Judy Garland ou Marilyn Monroe.
A célebre frase "Um dia, todos terão direito a 15 minutos de fama." é da sua autoria.
Faleceu em 1987 no dia seguinte a ter sido submetido a uma operação à vesícula biliar com sucesso. Algumas peças do artista:

Depois do concerto desta sexta passada no Lux, o mínimo que posso fazer é elege-los como música da semana.
Merecem muito mais que esta "atribuição".
Foram espectaculares.
